Andrea Cavicchi [pictured left] has been appointed President of Next Technology Tecnotessile in place of Massimo Biancalani, who remained at the helm of Next Technology for almost ten years.

The appointment was made by the shareholders’ meeting of the national research company based in Prato. The new CEO is Andrea Falchini [pictured right], previously director of NTT.

New corporate structure

The appointment also reflects the new corporate structure of Next Technology Tecnotessile. Confindustria Toscana Nord, through its subsidiary Saperi, has acquired the 40% stake in Next Technology previously held by the Ministry of Education, Universities, and Research.

CTN now holds a 51% stake in the company, while the remaining 49% is divided between various private companies in the textile, textile machinery, clothing, logistics, and chemical sectors.

One of the goals of my mandate is to support SMEs in promoting technology transfer. We also want to further strengthen access to European funding, continuing along the current path that has seen numerous grants obtained.

And again, work on the circular economy and textile recycling, the green and digital transition, and advanced technical training.

Furthermore, we want to strengthen our relationships with Italian and European technology and research centers.

Andrea Cavicchi

Another strategic objective of Cavicchi will be to establish agreements with national and European research centers to establish a network for exchanging best practices, knowledge, and conferences, with a view to enhancing local communities.
