Recovery of Italian textile machinery in the II quarter of 2025

In the second quarter of 2025, the “Italian textile machinery order Index” compiled by the Research Department of ACIMIT – the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, showed a slight decline compared to the same period in 2024 (-1%). In absolute terms, the index stood at 47.1 points (base 2021=100). Signals from the domestic market are encouraging, but concerns about the future remain.

Italian and European textile and clothing industries join forces

In Paris Confindustria Moda, Euratex and the main European textile and clothing federations signed a joint declaration against Ultra Fast Fashion. The initiative marks a common European front to defend the sector, workers and consumers from the distorting effects of an unsustainable economic model.

The designers of Istituto Secoli in Lucia Giacani’s photos

From 18 September to 3 October 2025, Istituto Secoli presents the exhibition 'Surreal Identities. Lucia Giacani Fashion Photography from 2007 to 2025', celebrating the talent of seven emerging designers whose collections span the female and male universes. On display are both unpublished images by Giacani and garments by Designers to Watch, as well as historical shots from the photographer's archive, published over the years by leading international fashion magazines.

Peru and Milan come together for the Fashion Week

Thanks to the Perú Moda Deco Trade Mission, on 22 and 23 September, Peruvian designers and companies specialising in alpaca and Pima cotton will arrive in Milan for Fashion Week for exclusive events combining design, comfort, traceability and creative excellence.
