Freudenberg Italia, with its production site in Sant’Omero, specializes in interlinings, canvas, preformed parts, shirt interlinings, waddings, and fusible products. SAMAB 2025: Booth E15

.

The motto of the Freudenberg Group is “innovating together”: the company maintains a close and continuous dialogue with its clients, who can see and touch the products firsthand at the Sant’Omero (TE) plant.

«We strongly wanted a factory in Italy, the beating heart of luxury fashion» says Simone Visani, Head of Sales and Marketing Italy. «Having production facilities where fashion is created offers the strategic advantage of reducing response times to customer requests, which may include for example:

  • Fast product development and customization;
  • Efficient transport and logistics to the final destination».

Various Product Sectors

At the plant in the province of Teramo, technicians with specialized expertise in various product sectors are at work: the production of tailored garments requires the highest levels of quality and specialization, and Freudenberg can control every detail of the entire process.

«Our catalogue includes not only interlinings but also canvas (a product specifically for menswear), preformed components, shirt interlinings, waddings, and adhesives fusible items. Each product category is managed by a dedicated team» explains Visani.

Presence at SAMAB

«The decision to hold an event like SAMAB once again in Italy reflects our belief that it is right to invest where luxury fashion production is based» argues Visani. «Even though the sector has recently experienced a downturn for the first time, Italy remains unquestionably the country of excellence in global luxury production. Therefore, it is essential to have a trade fair that speaks to industry professionals right here, where the key players are located».

Products presented at SAMAB

At SAMAB, Freudenberg showcases products focused on three main themes:

  • SUSTAINABILITY

The range of interlinings made from recycled or recyclable materials is extensive, comprising 200–300 product families, both fusible and canvas. With an in-house cutting room, the company also regenerates canvas cutting scraps, producing new yarns for new canvas fabrics.

Additionally, for 100% circular shirting, Freudenberg offers a compostable resin point and recycled polyester inner layers that feel indistinguishable from cotton, providing environmental benefits and production advantages (as these products melt at lower temperatures than cotton).

Furthermore, the company has reduced energy consumption thanks to the installation of photovoltaic systems and solar panels.

  • TAILORED SOLUTIONS FOR EVERY NEED

The catalogue includes the product line, GBE, featuring textile structures with dynamic elasticity in a wide range of weights and soft handfeel. These allow excellent recovery even when paired with a knit fabric. These interlinings can also be used as linings and customized with transfer printing for a personalized garment finish.

  • NEW INTERLINING

Freudenberg presents a new, ultra-light interlining, 15 g, that – thanks to intensive R&D – can now be produced in a wide range of colors and in small quantities.
