Brustia Alfameccanica, through its Brustia Advanced Technology division, has specialized in quality control of fashion garments with X-ray technology and machine vision systems since 2000. SAMAB 2025: Booth D18
.
Brustia Alfameccanica’s X-Ray-based systems are designed to perform non-destructive inspection of the finished product (clothing and accessories) that can detect foreign bodies and microscopic defects, such as needle fragments (from 0.2 mm), forgotten staples and pins. Thus it ensures high quality while protecting the safety of the end consumer.
Machine vision systems, on the other hand, are in-line or off-line machines aimed at providing support to operators performing fabric quality control, highlighting possible anomalies such as weaving and finishing defects.

Presence at SAMAB
«We believe that SAMAB is a landmark event for the fashion world» comments Brustia. «Quality control systems can bring added value to productions, at a time when the focus on quality is of paramount importance in the luxury world. We also present practical, real-world applications of AI/IoT to support the operations of quality control workers».
Automated X-ray quality control system
At SAMAB, the company is presenting the MM1600V, a manual version of the MM3600 machine. The latter is a state-of-the-art automated X-ray quality control system for inspections of automated production lines. «With an inspection time of only 15 seconds per item it dramatically speeds up the quality control process, increasing productivity without compromising accuracy» Brustia explains.
The system is optimized for fast and accurate inspections of a wide range of garments, with an inspection area of 80x35x155 cm, making it ideal for a wide range of clothing types. Equipped with automatic defect detection software, the MM3600 identifies even the smallest defects; the built-in RFID reader links inspection reports directly to individual products, ensuring seamless tracking and tracing.
The machine features two 19-inch high-resolution touchscreen displays and two 40-inch high-resolution monitors for dual image inspection, with a user-friendly interface thanks to an intuitive design with easy-to-use icons. CE certification and a 100% safety guarantee ensure that the MM3600 meets stringent industry standards.

Viewpoint on the latest technologies
«AI is already installed and active on our machinery, automatically detects any anomalies during quality control and supports the operator in inspection. IoT is implemented through a series of devices and machinery that allow complete product traceability: all images created by our finished inspections can be uniquely associated with RFID tags» Brustia concludes. «We also make machinery for tracking and mass reading of products with RFID tags (for example, those being moved along production lines or already palletized during shipping), to automatically detect production and logistics tracking and automate these operations».
