Alkotex was founded in 1954 and has been active in the fashion production sector for 71 years, which it covers 360° thanks to its representation of 10 companies.

«We are in contact with the luxury fashion maison, albeit indirectly, thanks to our Barudan embroidery machines: a Japanese company that we have been representing for about 40 years» says Nicoló Cataletto, Alkotex sales representative.

Solutions for Apparel

In fashion apparel, Alkotex is also distinguished by the use of 3 special technologies.

  1. The laser cutting machine made by Eurolaser of Luneburg – thanks to high-quality components, precision optics and state-of-the-art laser sources, combined with the technical expertise of the operators – guarantees high performance in cutting various materials, including fabrics.
  2. Herbert Meyer’s laminating and bonding system is capable of joining fabrics, leathers, foams, and other materials through the combined action of pressure and heat. Today lamination is often integrated with embroidery in response to the growing demands of fashion for increasingly complex and original visual effects.
  3. Twine’s machine (a company that Alkotex has represented for about 5 years) allows dyeing polyester yarns (50 to 600 dtex) with solid colors, without any use of water. Thus, those who need to make prototypes or small productions quickly can dye exactly the desired amount, without waste, with custom colors or by replicating existing shades. This avoids reliance on traditional dyehouses and stock saturation with outdated dyes. Since this is a “bobbin to bobbin” technology, the treated yarn can then be used in numerous areas: from weaving to embroidery and even apparel.

Attendance at SAMAB

«SAMAB has always been a significant trade show for our Industry, attracting many customers and lining up perfectly with our products. The event showcases a collection of top-notch companies offering the latest technologies, and it has all the makings of a stable point of reference for suppliers and buyers. We are part of the pool of companies that pushed hard to bring back this important event» Cataletto explains.

Technological solutions

«We are in favor of introducing technologies such as Artificial Intelligence in our Industry, because it can prove to be an incredibly important and high-performance tool, if employed well. As far as our machinery is concerned, AI is already used in laser cutting through cameras placed on the cutting bridge» Cataletto says, pointing out that this enables the recognition of contours, shapes, edges, QR codes/barcodes, etc., and it optimizes cutting performance. «These technological solutions make it easier and faster to perform matching on patterned fabrics or recognize any object that is on the cutting table, and then process its characteristics without having to create a dedicated cutting file».
